The subject tests which are commonly known as SAT II since 2005 are required o improve your chances of securing admissions in a preferred college. Though many colleges do not consider these tests in the admission procedures but there are many who accept it too. The subject tests need to be given on any of the 7 subjects of your choice. You can also choose to give 3 tests at a time.

Each of the subject tests is of 1 hour duration and all subjects are compiled in a single booklet and given to the students on the day of the actual test. You may also choose to give a certain subject test on the final day. The extra fees will be levied to you later. The subject tests include 7 major subjects namely, Foreign languages like Chinese, French, German, Modern Hebrew, Korean, Italian, Japanese, Latin and Spanish. The other 6 subjects include US and World History, English Literature, Level 1 and 2 Math, Ecological or Molecular Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Each of the subject tests holds a maximum score of 800. On an average each test has 95 questions. Also, it is not possible to appear for SAT I and SAT II on the same day as it will be too taxing for the brain. Hence both these tests have to be timed properly. For subject tests, one needs to thoroughly go through the entire high school syllabus because these questions are to the point and hence the answers need to be precise too.
