Numeric Entry questions do not offer you multiple choices. The Numeric Entry forms
a sub section of Quantitative Reasoning and involves solving problems and data interpretation
and entering the answers in the blanks provided with the questions. The answers
may be rounded up to the nearest decimal or integer depending on the instructions
given with the question. Sometimes there are 2 blanks provided for entering answers
in fraction.
The Numeric Entry section also has certain units mentioned with the blank answer
boxes sometimes. Hence before entering an answer these have to be carefully understood
and the answer modified or converted as per the units. The paper test also gives
you the ability to recheck your answers. So remember to cross check your answers.
There is not a major difference between the type of questions asked in the Numeric
Entry section or the Quantitative reasoning and problem solving parts. In the former
part, one has to enter answer after solving the problem and there is no choice.
Since there is no choice or clues for answers in the Numeric Entry section, it becomes
a little difficult to identify whether the answer is correct. Hence correct method
of computing and solving the problem is to be adopted and one has to maintain a
state of calm while solving these problems. The syllabus for the entire Quantitative
Reasoning section is equivalent to 10th grade and below. All you need to do is just
brush up the basic math skills.
There will be questions on numeric entries, quantitative comparisons, algebra, geometry,
applied mathematics, interpreting math data and so on. High level math like trigonometry
or calculus is not used in these tests but you need to be well versed with other
arithmetic topics and statistics too. Since use of calculator is allowed in all
sections, it helps in saving time but constant practice is very important to attempt
maximum question in minimum time.
