Another Way of Dealing with GMAT Tests
Cracking any test is all about working on the toughest sections of the test. However
before doing so, you should make sure to work on the section of sentence correction
in the GMAT test and why? Simply because everything starts and ends with this and
is more like the base. The GMAT test is not only about analyzing and testing you
on various abilities like those of mathematical et al but also on other basics such
as understanding and sentence correction.
The sentence correction section would make up about one third of the GMAT test where
you could expect 16 questions on this section. It could be in the form of underlined
sentences or even long sentences. What you have to be able to do is, correct the
underlined sentence or long sentence if required in such sentence corrections. For
example when you get an underlined sentence, if you feel the sentence needs no correction,
you could simply choose the first option which repeats the first option as it is.
However certain sentence corrections would also test you on your grammar ability.
You would be evaluated on the correct use of grammar as well as the ability to form
certain sentences on your own with the help of choosing certain words. All you have
to do here is, just pick the appropriate word and frame the sentence making use
of right grammar. Now this seems more like a challenge, but it’s never impossible.
All you have to do is brush up your grammar skills and learn to form sentences with
different words.
Here are a few common mistakes you could look for - Are few of the words used controvert
other parts of the sentence or is the right tense used, also are plural forms used
in places not required?....questions like these can bring to your understanding
its error. All you have to do is read the sentence correctly, cut out on things
you think is unnecessary, also read what’s left of it and decided if it’s the right
one and lastly pick your choice.
Maybe cracking a GMAT test is not so bad after all!
